And the winner(s) of this months Owner’s photo competition goes to Roy Wade-Duffee – Southampton UK

No doubt, when we think of Tuscany, we imagine clear blue skies, rolling landscape with a sea of green, cypress trees and hedgerows dotted with brightly coloured wild flowers and to a certain extent this is true, but many of our owners have experienced the display and marveled when the mist lifts to reveal a Romanesque church, or the remains of a castle or a hidden Borgo or a mesmerizing landscape thanks to the influence of the mid morning sun piercing through the sky.

Roy’s attentive eye didn’t miss the opportunity of capturing this dreamy (S. Biagio in Montepulciano) mist rising one morning last September.
Complimenti Roy: 15 minutes later and you would have missed the opportunity…

As soon as Fulvio saw Roy’s picture, he immediately thought of a beautiful piece composed by the great German composer Hans Werner Henze, who unfortunately passed away few months ago, and dedicated this piece to the S. Biagio Basilica. We encourage you to click and enjoy the piece.

Henze had been responsible for many years of the Cantiere dell’Arte di Montepulciano and his efforts attracted some of the best contemporary names of Art, and in particular Music, creating from nothing one of the most renown and important Art events in Tuscany.
