Tip of the Month

Each month we highlight a place of interest around the globe that we consider as unique as Borgo di Vagli. The tips are selected as they either show respect for the environment, nature, and architectural beauty or are deeply indigenous to their individual origin. This month we have chosen to highlight a couple of unique restaurants in Siena and some might say as important - where to park.

Antica Osteria da Divo, via Franciosa 25/29 Siena

Only a few steps from the Cathedral (Duomo) and Piazza del Campo is the "Antica Osteria Da Divo" a charming restaurant where you can enjoy refined gastronomic delights of the Tuscan cuisine. The particularly unique location in ancient Etruscan rooms cut out of the 'tufo', the soft volcanic rock on which Siena is built, will undoubtedly make this culinary experience one to remember. The menu is regularly changed by the chef Pino Di Cicco to express his creativity and offer his guests the finest Sienese dishes using the best fresh ingredients of the season.

To accompany and fully exalt the flavours and aromas of the renowned Italian dishes, the restaurant stocks a vast selection of both Italian and international wines too!

Taverna di San Giuseppe, Via Duprè, 132, 53100 Siena

Hosts Matteo and Marco have together created a small but great Tuscan reality. They believed in, chose and renovated "La Taverna di San Giuseppe" with the intent of reviving the historical and cultural feel of the area while making guests welcome and at home and offering them a time of joy in an informal but smart setting. The selection of wines is impressive! Ask to visit the cantina carved out of the “tufo” rock.
